bdx oil injection delete

My best tip is "don't do it." I know some guys have had luck with it but I have seen first hand what can happen. It cost my buddy about 1200.00 to fix as it took his crank out when it seized in his cases. AC engineered the stock oiling system to directly lubricate the water/oil pump driveshaft for a good reason. I have read where some guys are fabricating a small bottle with a hose running into the oiling orfice. This may help. I have also heard of guys installing a grease zerk and squirting a little in there every now and then. Just be warned, and careful. The install is a piece of cake.

x2 .it happened two me.

what about on the 700's???

A friend did it on his M7 last year and rode well over 1000 miles with no issues. If there was a lube problem to the crank it would have shown up by then. The mix is the key, you have to measure the oil carefully and get it exact. I'm personally scared of the oil delete and haven't done it on my M8 but I have been around several sleds that have done it with zero issues. I know Twisted is deleting the oil pump but I believe they are drilling the cases as well. That might be something to look into. Oil delete has been done for years on all models of sleds, you just need to make sure you do it right and not just slap a $40 plug in it and call it good. Call Shain and find out what they are doing to keep the turbos reliable and do the same. He sold several M1000 kits last year and I haven't heard of any oil related problems with them.

did it on my 09 m1000 ran it for 600miles no problems, I always use AC apv oil and run the sled as fat as I can get without loosing power. A lot of the time the seize happens from people running to lean and drying out the oil, I let mine run fat on the bottom and don't ever hold the throttle in one position. adding the delete made it run a lot better and I know my sled is always getting 40:1, before I was averaging 28:1 and was never consistant the highest was 32:1

I got the kit and still not sure if im gonna install on my 09 m8, Has me a little scared if the crank aint getting the lube it needs. cant seize up brand new sled

1. the 09's stick and over oil and cause a very slight mid range bog/delay on some sleds, I was averaging 28:1 everytime I filled up
2. I have a modded m1000 and added a lot more fuel on the top with a fuel controller, but when you add fuel you should add oil, one of the main reasons twisted does it. Now it is always 40:1 no matter what.

Its a pain but it made my sled run a lot cleaner and more consistent.
I am also saving money on oil.

I've seen a number of sleds with MANY miles on them that have the delete. I have put over 4k on deleted 1000's.

Look at some of the tip son here about how to do it right, lots of information on here.

I've had 3 oilers fail on differnet sleds & seen a few others on friends' sleds, but never had the delete fail me, so for me the answer is pretty simple.

did you guys do anything different or just unbolt the oil pump and install the delete kit. How about filling with oil? running a hose? grease zerk? get confusing reading all the posts on here.

Im thinking about tearing the top end down and sending down to SLP to do there performance edetion kit. that would be when i would do the change over

I did notice my m8 used way more oil than my 700 Poo.

ya what he said.i dont want to drill the case if thats what is needed.thanks

2000+ miles on my 09 m1200 last year not one oil problem. The problem is like the others have said not mixing 40:1.

I will delete it on my new sled as well:D

i put delete on...and kept a hose going to water pump drive cavity just because it was easy and i just add a few ounces of oil every 6 weeks or so..just in case..

I think on one of the previous threads it was mentioned that drilling the case was the answer on the 900, but didn't work well or wasn't needed on the laydown motors.

Myself, I shoved grease in both ends (bottom where the hose comes off, and in the cavity where you pull the oiler) If the grease washes away, then there's oil in there, if the grease stays... well, then it's greased right?

My thinking is commonly flawed:D, but it has worked well on my sleds.

My case was not drilled either

Wyoboy is right. The oil/waterpump shaft seized in the cases wiping out the crank gear. Sent all of that debris into the cases wiping out the crank bearings. It actually bent the shaft about a half inch or more. Some guys are having luck with them, but it's not worth it to me. Not bashing.
