BDX in-tank 1:1 Reg

Has anyone experienced a similar issue:

Last season I installed the intank regulator and it would hold fuel pressure. Not for weeks, but for a few days it would still read at 10-20lbs, then fade out over time. This was great with the high flow intank pump, because the sled was pretty much "primed" when you went to start it... aka not pullin' on the rope forever trying to build fuel pressure as with an external regulator and large pump.

NOW, the thing holds zero pressure. Maybe some for less than a minute, but thats it. Anyone else? Is there a seal that goes out in 'em or ?

ALSO, this season I put a set of KOSO EGTs on it. One side reads 40-50 degrees different. Idle, mid, high, doesnt matter. Swap wires, same thing. JUNK?

called bdx

I called bdx.

The situation is: the regulator is usually set for 40-45lbs (stock fuel rail reqs). In order to clean up the bottom end while using a Dobek style controller, it was set at about the 36psi mark. There isnt enough play/adjustment zone to set it that low with spring sag over time. It was said that I can bring up the baseline FP to 40 and it would probably hold pressure again.

BDX will have a new spring for these available this summer, that will allow the adjustment to be as low as 20lbs.

The real fix is in controller. With the Dobek controllers, you cant take away fuel, but next year there is talk of a new dobek box that will allow you positive and negative fuel adjustment.

For me, Im going to crank it up to 43lbs, and put my Boondocker box on it.

I have the same problem, the BDX regulator will not hold pressure and when on boost sometimes it adds pressure and sometimes it wont. I have a conversion for the stock regulator that I bought from Dakota Performance and once installed it holds pressure and actually add 1lbs of pressure per lbs. of boost.

don;t worry about them losing pressure when the sled is shut off..i pull mine over very slowly not busting a gut for three or 4 pulls then i give it a short quick one and she takes off..they are a good regulator...and the Koso egt guage...they are a great guage...its not uncomman for 50 degrees or more differance...it could be real...it could be probe depth...etc..don;t fret..

my koso gauges read about a 50 degree difference between cylinders as well, my pto side is always 50 or so hotter than the mag side cylinder.
which makes sense, when i used to have carbed sleds, my pto side was always jetted a size fatter than the mag side. i think the gauges are very good!!!
