BDX Diamond Drive info???

I know, I'm sure there have been multiple threads about this in the past, but I'm hoping for some specific info. on my sled setup. I'd like to put on a BDX DD kit, but there are so many options for gearing it's a little confusing to say the least. I ride an 07 M1000, 3 post clutch with 77.5 g weights, stock spring, 40/36 helix and BDX rock rollers with stock spring in secondary. LW can, nothing else different under the hood. Power Claw track, and I run the 046 belt. Which gear ratio should work best, and should I get diff. drivers, or keep my stock ones? If so, should I get a 8, 9, or 10 tooth? The other question is, if I did go with this kit, should I look at diff. weights, springs, or helix? I'm just looking to get the best bang from my sled, and it sounds like DD and clutching is the key.

I have read many threads on this. Alot of people say the stock M8 gears work well. I ordered 1 step lower than the M8 gears for mine. 57/63. Havent seen any posts of people changing drivers. good luck everyone that has geared their sled down seems to like it

Ok Ill give ya my .02 I have always geared for approx. 85mph top speed for mountain riding. For my M1k I went with one gearset lower than the M8 gears with stock drivers. This is a great balance. Some guys go even lower, but too low and you will compromise trail manners. This is a must do for a mountain sled. As far as the driver size leave the 8tooth. If you go bigger you will have to re-consider your gear and figure out the effective ratio change with taller drivers. Larger drivers may reduce rolling resistence to some degree, but at the same time you are reducing your ability to clear snow through the tunnel, so I dont think its worth the trade
