MY OPINION: No cooler on a pump gasser. Cooler justification on a 2 stroke is just not worth the money. A good one that is plumbed well can lower the intake temps, but they still dont consistently regulate air temps, density, or humidity, enough to be worth the cost and weight and hassle. For those that have one a 2 stroke and love it, more power to you. But tried them, and built plenty without. Without was just fine. To each his own.

thanks for your input, so the boondocker turbo pump gas kit must come with good enough plumbing to use without air cooler and what about hp difference??

if your running pump gas on an m8 at 6-8,000 ft you can run 8-9lbs of boost on 91 octane. at those boost levels you should have around 200-210hp all the time. i dont see a point for having an intercooler.... the only time i ever needed one on my sled last year was spring riding when it was hot outside and under hood temps were really high... i solved that by putting the intake through the hood on my spring hood and my charge temps were great... personally i dont think they are needed unless you are exceeding 14+lbs of boost all the time... my personal experience with them they seem to have more lag w/ the intercoolers as well. just my opinion

what if i run av gas? what would it do at 6-8000 would i need cooler? how much psi and hp comparaison thanks

you cant run more than 8ish psi on a m8 in the pump gas kit the stock injectors cant flow enough fuel to go any higher, this is the reason why i run the race kit without the cooler and still go to 14psi.

i beg to differ.

I have ran well over 8 pounds for a full day and never run out of fuel supply.

I have hit 9+ as well and know a sled that ran 10.8#s with out any fuel issues.

And on the bd boxes you can check the duty cycle of the injectors, at 8-9 pounds im at low 90% range most of the time some times lower.

This all at 6-8000 feet, on straight 91 octane.
