BD box MAG Injector Error

I'm looking for anybody who's experienced the same error on their BD box and found the cause/solution.

I'll try to give the complete story but keep it brief... Here goes:

Purchased a used '07 M1000 with the following mods: RKT head, SLP pipe (complete) and intake kit, BD box and SledJunkys clutch kit. When I picked up the sled in Mar of '07 in Utah, the sled absolutely RIPPED in 3' of fresh powder & I almost died in an Avi...

I've had 2 ECU updates (BIG mistake I think, but was warned it would void my warranty if I didn't) and I've since geared it down from the stock 60/60 to 56/64 to help with belt life.

Didn't get to ride but twice in '08 'cause of a broken arm, but once it just died on me during a big pull & wouldn't start for 15 minutes or so.

Flash forward to this season- First ride in deep snow and I've now got the dreaded BOG.... So, I added some more vents and that seemed to help, BUT- I'm still only pulling 7000-7,100 RPM and still have occasional Bogs.

When I went to subtract some fuel on the BD box, it had the MAG Injector Error on it EVERY time I looked. I'm also getting a "Failure in Exhaust Temperature Sensor" error from the Check Engine Light

I plan to clean/adjust my power valves & confirm my oil consumption in the next day or 2 as well as go over the electrical connections.

Any ideas what's going on? I have TON'S of compression and looked at my ECU vent hose and moved it along the wiring harness.

Could these error messages warrant a trip to the dealer & some Warranty work?

Thanks for any input!

-Jeff

I recieved that same Mag Injector Error message last trip. I found out a wire near the injector from the BD box had a whole rubbed through the insulation, so the wire was grounding out. Check your wires for any wear marks.

I doubt that the dealer will warranty much with a head and a pipe on there but maybe so. Check to see what program you have on your BD box. If it starts with a 4 you probably need to send it in to be reprogrammed. That should cure the mag side injector failure, you may also want to call boondocker and explain the other issues, they are usually pretty helpful.

I lost the Exhaust Temperature Sensor a few weeks ago on my M8. When I got the new one from the dealer I was told that it is farily commen to lose them on the M1000's due to vibration. More often with after market pipes than stock pipes. I also had the BD box MAG Injector Error. After checking all the wires with no luck. I called BD they said that the BD Box needed to be updated, I sent it to them and got It back within a week. No problems yet.

had a bad ground, and a wire that the casing had been rubbed through gave me injector error. fixed these things and it went away for awhile. sometimes when i start my machine it still comes up with injector error, i push select and turn it off then start it again and its gone! i dont get it, but it seams to go away.

I lost a temp sensor on my 07 M1000 too. It looked like it was ok, but on further inspection the wires just pulled out the end of it. I think it retards the timming or something when it fails.

send back to BD for reflash

they had a problem with some boxes being hyper sensitive to feedback and the "mag injector error" kept coming up. If you send it back to them, they will reflash the box like AC has been doing to the ecu. This will make it go away.

its a false positive that will drive you nuts, especially if everything is grounded, looks good, sounds good, etc.

How long was the turnaround time? mine seems to run fine egts are very close side to is it ok to ride it? How much for the re flash?
