BCA float 30 shovel storage

Where are you guys storing your shovel? I've got mine in the outer pocket that has a velcro strap and a slide through hole in the bottom. Once I put the shovel blade in there, the handle has to just float around in whatever position I can get the zipper to close. I would think there would be a dedicated spot for shovel blade and handle?
Am I missing something?

Put the blade in the shovel pouch with the neck of the shovel in the hole in the bottom. There is a separate pouch on the side of the pack (has a silver buckle, kind of J shaped) tha the shovel handle will slide in and another pouch on the opposite side for the probe to slide in.
