BC, Tazer capital of Canada?

The YVR incident is still fresh in most everyones mind, here are links to a few current and recent events.
I gotta ask....Is it really that crazy out there that some cops find the need to use such excessive force in the name of compliance on a 68 yr old man for parking infractions, or a handcuffed 135lb, 15 yr old kid...or a 45 yr old disabled guy?

BTW, the 45 yr old died last month after walking into traffic on the Coquihalla highway so the case dies with him.

I read the story about the 68yr old dude a few weeks ago, i couldnt believe what i was reading. Over being parked in the wrong spot, while in the vehicle....... Unreal

in the states we only see what the papers feel is newsworthy. otherwise it just gets swept under the carpet along w/ everything else. i would think that your police force on the average is good, but if they make a mistake it gets printed and raved about. i read the articles and seems to me that there is sufficient grounds on each to have some serious fallout

The taser is a very effective tool. It is so effective I think some officers forget to try anything else. I hate to second guess situations where I wasn't present, I have not been in a situation where I would have used a taser on someone who is handcuffed.

If the guy never would have driven off the incidnet would have never happened. I agree the ticket was petty, so take it to court and fight it. I think he would have had a good argument to get it dropped.
