Battery!!!!!

I'm no expert on this, but any battery with enough amps should do the trick.

As for the lightweight batteries, when I was looking into them, it sounds like most of them are a no-no, since they are actually relabeled car stereo system batteries, or something like that, and can't take the cold. The two I found that had lots of positive comments were the Yuasa YTZ7 or YTZ10, I think the Yamaha dealers even carry them for their ATV's.

Hope that helps.

We used the battery out of a TTR250,and have heaps of service out of those, unfortunately you have to get them from a Yamaha dealer, there is no good aftermarket replacement.

To ensure long life, get a battery tender Jr, I'm going on 5+ years on a stock Yamaha battery on my street bike with the tender.....

go out to your dad's and get one of them hand crank's off an old tractor for the weekend. Don't have to worry about it going dead. hahhaha!!

I double checked and my nytro battery won't work for your mount.

I also went the lightweight battery from yami saved 6 lbs on the scale. I also bought a emergency booster from crappy tire..Only time I have needed it is when I left the key on overnight.................02:D

I bought a replacement battery -Everstart Maxx ES14BS $75 at WalMart. I left my sled on the mtn. (dead batt.= no worky) it was the only place open at 10pm and a full warranty, but it has worked perfect since.
