Battery question on turbo sled

Okay, so here it is, I have what I think is a CPI turbo set up, on a 2003 700 Polaris edge. Mitsubishi Evo turbo, electric oil pump, electric fuel pump. Sled has a atv size battery installed. Last weekend I went sledding with a few friends, made it about 3-4 miles back in, no fuel pressure. Checked fuel pump, not working, figured out battery was dead. Ran the battery back to the truck and charged it for about 20 minutes and headed back and installed battery. Barely made it back to the trailer. again, dead battery. So, in thinking back it had been a while since I charged the battery, so I just figured okay my bad. Fast forward to today, slow charged battery all day yesterday, and all night. Battery tender light was green, indicating full charge. Headed for the mountain. Again 3-4 miles back in, no fuel pressure. Dead battery. Battery will try to recover itself after a few minutes and you can turn the pump on and fill the bowls. In my mind that makes me think the battery is still pretty strong if it is recovering a little after a few minutes on it's own. A friend of mine told me the stator should keep up with fuel pump and oil pump demand. Not sure about that. Question is, should I be looking for a new battery or at a stator issue? Open to suggestions, sure has screwed up a couple of righteous days of sledding. Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have. I forgot to mention that I noticed that the tach part of my digitron was not working when I left the parking lot this morning. i looked it over for loose wires and stuff on the mountain, not ruling it out yet till I get it to the shop, but I did look at it.

your digitron can drain a battery if it is keeping it on. so make sure that when the key or kill switch is of the digiron is not seeing power. you will want to do a stator test and a fuel pump amp draw test to make sure that the stator is putting out some juce and the fuel pump is not pulling to many amps.

also check your voltage reg.

we don't run batteries anymore. you can run everything through a rectifier or relayand capasitor combo. that way if the electricals of the sled are good the the sled runs.

I am hauling it to the shop wednesday and going to work on it that night. I figured I would check stator output first. I think it is not charging. Digitron does turn off when the kill switch is pressed. Takes a minute for it shut down but it does. So no one is running batteries anymore? Wow! I would love to see that set up. Batteries are a pain in hind end.

What oil pump are you running? Can you get a pic of it? That will determine if Brycters no battery set up will work.

Mine is a Greylor pump, PQ-12DC. I took a pic of my spare. Also, in the second pic you can see the fuel pump as well, not sure of the brand though. The guy I bought this from said it was built by CPI, I e-mailed Mike a pic of it and he said he did not remember doing this one, but said it was for sure his pipe and head. No one really seems to know much about the sled at all, I was told it was an ex hill climber and was pretty successful in its day, Came out of Kaysville area when I got it. Pretty sure it is a local sled but have not been able to find anyone who remembers the sled or the owner or what it's history is exactly. Sled is an 03 800 chassis with a 700 ves motor.
