Battery drain with PIDD

Have a 2016 AXYS with electric start and PIDD. Last year put an earth X battery in it and have had zero issues. However, they say the battery can be left in the sled. But after just a few months, it had drained the battery to a point it wouldn't turn over. I took the battery out and charged it and has maintained a perfect charge for three months now. Supposedly Polaris has a bulletin out saying the PIDD does in fact drain batteries. Any one have info on this?

I get the same on my WPS Lithium Lightweight battery- I would like to junk that thing..I am on my 3rd battery in their 2 year warranty... They don't like keep a charge- and now not accepting a charge.... like to toss this lightweight paper weight... what a joke for sub zero temps./ and keeping a charge...
My ramp is over.... I want a better Battery........

Best bet with any battery left in - put an Optimate on it (Earth x) or Battery Tender (lead) all off season, if you can. Just to avoid the normal parasitic discharge, like any battery, and turning your Earth X into a paper weight. Had an Earth X go dead over a summer, unconnected, replaced under warranty, even tho it had the auto-shutdown brain in it. Just don't trust them sitting now. Seems even the non-PIDD poos have a slight drain, maybe it's their crap harness/components. Haven't seen the issue with doos, but the battery on them only have to turn the crank a 1 turn after sitting for months with etec.

Same issues

My dealer has me unplug power block under dash until next season. My old elec. dashes I disconnected a battery terminal or they drained them also.
LCD displays and computers a constant drain. Had a car that would do the same thing! :face-icon-small-dis

I'm on my third Earth-X as well. One died over the summer on my 13 and the next mid ride on my 15. The current one has held a charge while connected all summer on my 17.

I had to fight for the second warranty. They are not sealed at all and water inside will mess them up. It can be pretty humid under a sled hood.

I have a lightweight battery as well, no PIDD though. Battery still has 3 bars of charge through the summer. Make sure if you are trickle charging, the charger is correct for the battery. There are various trickle charges for each style of battery.

I pull the WPS Lithium out completely every season and put it on a charger- over the summer -but nope it won't take a full charge. Meter only reads 10.2 vt charge.. and can only get one light to light up, after 3 weeks steady on the Optimate charger..
