I got a piston set from MCB performance for my 05 800 renegade, it came with 2 base gaskets one of them was a doo gasket 0.6 the other one was a black gasket from cometic. Wasnt sure which to use so I used the cometic. I have heard of different thickness base gaskets before just wondering which one I should have used?

Well on the gasket you pulled outa the engine it has pinholes on the gasket between the jugs...the number of holes relates to gasket thickness. Cant remember the thickness size per hole 
but if you install a thicker-thinner gasket it could hurt the performance ???I am sure someone here will chime in. As for myself I install the same size as what came from the factory. Hope this helps , Dino
