Oh Barney was talking on NPR this morning. He said a bunch of partisan crap as usual, but said one very interesting thing. He says that he wants the next bailout money to help pay down financially challenged people's principle. He actually wants to pay off part of the money they owe???????? Listen for yourself.

Jesus, I'm going to be sick.

It is very simple. If you can't afford your home, get out. If you are upside down and can't afford to pay it off declare bankruptcy and start renting. Expecting tax payers to pay an the mortgage someone can't afford is absurd.

What they need to do is raise interest rates now. Everyone is sitting on the sidelines waiting for lower rates and bailout money. If we want this economy to move, start raising rates and everyone will get of thier azzes to take advantage of the rates offered now. We'll be lending like crazy again. Lowering rates and getting people into homes they can't afford is what got us into this mess. Don't keep lowering them. Duh!!
