I got mine off eBay for 68$ shipped to my door, not name brand stuff but they sure have taken a beating!

I'm a fan of the fastway handguards. The inner mount of the of the handguard is attached to the handlebar clamp, not to the bar itself. You'd be pretty hard pressed to break your bars with this setup. They are definitely more expensive than the other style though. The plastic deflectors that attach to the hanguards are very brittle in the cold and I have stopped running them in the winter after breaking a couple sets. I made bigger ones out of foam that work pretty good, and keep your hands warmer too.
