Bar heaters again

Do the ones like RSI under the grip give enough heat through the rubber or do the grips with the heaters in them work better??

The heaters that go under the grips need two on the left to get hot enough. Or something to insulate so the bars don't draw away the heat. The throttle side only needs one heater. I've never tried the grips with heaters built in but I would think they would work better.

For the left grip, you may want to consider a thin layer of cork between the grip and the bar to provid insulation. Definitely need some layer of insulation though.

Funny! I just installed my heated grips last night and was thinking the left was not as hot as the right. I put the foam in the bars, so hopefully that works out alright. I have gotten frost bite on all of my finger tips, so I hate it when my hand warmers don't work!!! :)

the one I found has a plastic throttle tube for both sides so they heat evenly and are designed for dirt bikes.they say 140F on 35 watts

Gotta be careful to not keep the heaters on too much. I've had them cause the plastic deform and cause the throttle stick on. Just something to look out for.

Theres guys in WI that run this on the Ice Bikes. Splice a line and use the coolant to keep the bars warm. When I was ice racing in MN I was looking for options. Never tried it myself.

Thats cool, although the way I hit trees lately I would be scared I would tear a hose off in the back country

I think if you put shut-off valves where the line leaves and re-enters the coolant system you would be fine. If you bust a line, just shut that circuit off and get it fixed.

I should of posted these pics also. Theres these mits/covers that go over the hand guard. When your ripping doing 70+ on a open lake when its -20F your hands dont last long without something like this.

That's really creative! I wonder what they use to adapt the end of the air fitting to the bars? They almost need to tap the inside, but then i wonder how they do the guards... Very cool idea.

Im using bar heaters and the skidoo gaintlets I like the clear topp so I can see the controls
