Well this morning I installed my ballistic battery. Here is how I did it. I got a chunk of styrofoam from hobby lobby or micheals(craft stores). And cut it to the size of the stock battery. Then I cut a window out the size of the new battery. Then I wrapped it with aluminum Duct work tape. CAUTION be careful with the aluminm tape as it will obviously conduct electricity, so i was careful to make sure that the positive boot was over the battery and even taped over the neg. With a little work I had it in the sled and turned the key and vrooomm Obviously this is in the garage at 55degrees but pretty sure it turned over faster than the stock one. Also thinking that the aluminum foil tape will reflect any heat off the battery back into it and ballistic says heat is the key to the battery working in the cold. As when it sees a load it heats the cells so if it doesn't start the first time it will likely the second or third.
stock 14.5lbs
ballistic 2.5lbs.
weight loss 12 lbs. Cost $160-$180 depending upon if you shop around.
