Baker- Pow, Sun and skipping work

Got up early to ride miles of frozen whoops. Sure glad we did! Jetskier and myself were more than happy to get first tracks. We hunted around for that perfect altitude were all is deep and dry. Met up with sled to Shred and Mr. Wired to finish off tracking things up. What a stellar day for april. I would have to say it was my finest this year. OK enough of that, pics on the way!

2 knuckle heads...

Anybody see a couple of knuckle heads up there towing a sled out upside down? By the time they got to the truck they had the front end torn the black M1000...

From the way they tied rope I'm surprised they can tie there shoes.
They even tore off the rear bumper of the tow sled.

Our group of 3 caught up to the upside down sled. Man was the guy being towed pizzed!! I could tell by the tone of his voice and the comment he made to his buddy as he was walking towards the sleds after he got bucked off, and I quote.........." HEY MOTHER FU****, I CAN'T RIDE THE SLED WHEN IT IS UPSIDE DOWN!!"
We saw those two guys and the rest of their crew at the pizza place in Sedro-Woolly. They were in much better humor by then and we all laughed very hard about the events.
The guy being towed out says " Dude, I figured you would stop when you felt my sled's handlebars dragging in the snow." The guy towing the sled must not have even looked back because his reply was " I just thought you were using the brakes."
Hahahaa......... I almost coughed up a lung laughing at these guys' recap of their day. Good times!

best day this year???

Sparks, are you serious, best day this season? We were up there from about 10:30 till 4 pm and the fog was thick at times and the light was flat most of the day. The snow was wet and heavy. Definately far from powder. It was better than working, no doubt, but epic?? Not for us it wasn't:face-icon-small-con Glad you had a great time, though:beer;

You got up there at 10:30- Bankers hours! We got up early burned a tank of gas in deep pow and sun. The funny thing about Baker is that sun and pow do exist beyond hood hill. Note pic, fog and wet snow?
The fog sure did roll in quick as we headed out. Best go again, Sparks

Yeah, Watcha talkin bout Willis?

hood hill?

I've heard of hood hill but don't know where it is for sure. Is that the huge half pipe looking area? Some day our group is going to venture up there but for now we are just going to ride in the trees at the end of the forest service road.;)

Sorry Doogals , you gotta stay at work and pay for that new sled.
Sled-to-Shred nice pics, 4pm, how much gas did you suck out of that dead sled?, Did the fog lift? I sure wish I could of saw that sled being pulled out.
We did run into a snowhawk gang coming up, but one of there guys had a broken suspension, and looked like he was ready to toss gravel at me and
run over me with his PT cruiser.:p
FlyZ28 , hood hill, peanut knob all the same place. Its a little hill
just past a nice flat up out of the trees, when you see red gas cans
your there, If you want to go further than that, go
with someone who knows the place, lots of crevices past there.
Have fun, Sparks

Sparks, I was just yankin' your chain:D We've been in the crater ( not this year, though), and explored the usual areas. True, we did get a little bit of a late start but man that snow was wet, power robbing, sushy snow even at 10:30 ish.
Cool you got a couple of hours in before the clouds came in.

Baker Epic day !!!

I have not laughed so hard in a while reading this stuff..... I know I was not laughing trying to pull a dead sled out but we did get it out and I only lost a rear bumper.....

I think this is the second time I have ever been up to "Big House" and see it virgin !!! so only two hits and over the top I went with my little good runnin M7.....time before it was 4' deep and it took 5 220hp sleds to break trail just to get to big house.....

Word to the wise Arctic Cat front or rear bumpers are for looks only !!!!

All in all was a good day.....:beer;:beer;:beer;
