Baker- First Time Up

Looking for some riding suggestions. Headed up to Baker this weekend for the first time and hoping for some good riding. Can make it around most places, but very little technical skills. Would be awesome to find a great spot to work on carving, sidehilling, etc. 800 w/ 163 so going uphill in the deep is no problem.

Suggestions?

I wouldn't hit anything more then 30degrees in pitch.. tons of rain and more on the way.. the slopes are gettin slidy and were already a bit unstable..

Take a gps with you! Baker has unpredictable weather! It could get fogged in in seconds! Youwon't be able to even see the tips of your skis if that happens.

Thanks for the input guys.

Definitely monitoring weather and avalanche forecasts closely and unfortunately it looks like the danger is going to be pretty high through the weekend. Was hoping the lull in snowfall might help things settle down for Saturday, but the next system is now coming in quicker than expected.

With all that said:

Any recommendations on some good meadows or low avy areas to hit up? Typically ride of of 70, but looking to change it up. Anywhere within 3 hours of Seattle area in consideration.

First time to baker. Really try to find someone to go with and pick a sunny day. Last week we had an avalanche let loose behind us at baker while going down through a draw. Best to be cautious. Its easy to get hooked on Baker after having an epic day so don't be discouraged. There's not very many places like it in Washington.
