Bad fuel economy

okey in a 90mile trip last weekend my new 05 Rmk 900 empty the fuel tank and another 8 gallons of gas. and a 0.5 gallon of 2t oil.
It was a easy ride. Hard snow, few hills,
Is this normal?
The sled has slp can and stock pipe.

The other thing is. Its cuting out sometimes. Like i am pushing the kill button for 1/4 sec and then start again. This only happends when i am just cruising or giving it little gas. In a full throttle and mid throttle its fine.
and if i am pulling to a stop and give it no gas it sometimes just dies.

Sounds like your thumb throttle safety switch is not working right. There are 2 switches in your throttle that are there to make sure you are actually pushing the throttle, One is the little tab you can see get pressed when the throttle is closed, the other is in the hinge section... If either of these are not pressed your sled will stop like the kill switch was pressed...

70-80 miles on a tank also on mine. Shorty 121 with a mix of trail riding and aggressive x-country riding.

I get about 100 miles to a tank regardless on my 900 fusion pretty much regardless of how I drive (trails easy or aggressive).

I also had similar problems to what you are describing (occasional stall and an infrequent (eventually frequent) stumble between idle and WOT. Also would stall when I gave it throttle in reverse) and it turned out to be the wires to the stator pick up (top right square thingy with two screws holding it on) were in the process of being cut by the flywheel. I caught it before it cut all the way through, cut out the bad piece of wire, soldered in a new piece of wire and used shrink wrap to cover the bared wire.

man i must like the throttle. went only about 50 miles yesterday and ran out of gas:face-icon-small-sho

Are you sure you don't have a fuel leak? I had a crack in a fuel rail weld that was leaking. I didn't see the leak at first and it appeared that I was using twice as much gas. After the second tank I noticed fuel coming from the bottom despite looking in the engine cab and not seeing anything. I was lucky there was no fire.
