Bad crank m1000

I just lost the PTO rod bearing. I still have the stock oiler.
The engine uses a lot of oil and the inside of the engine is coated with oil,
why would a bearing fail?

I stoped in time not to damage the piston, cylinder or the head.

Not to turn this into an oil "war" I use Klotz oil.
1500 miles 08 M1000
Any good crank rebuilders out there?
Thanks Tar.

Clutch alignment and operation, and Motor mounts are two things to look at if all parts are coated with wet oil.

a rod bearing is usually a sign of deto,,,from past experience, maybe not here but it was with mine:(

This is not the first one to go. In our group there are 4 m1000 all stock and all 4 have had same bearing go out at about 1600 miles. All had good signs of oil and we cannot find out why they went.

Klotz

I switched over to Klotz this year. I lost the Mag side rod bearing after 2 gallons! I'll never run another drop of it in any of my 2strokes! It's my understanding that the Manufactureers will not warranty engines ran on Klotz.

I lost the lower connecting rod bearing on the mag side at 2200 miles. I was using cat synthetic at 32/1. The rest of the engine looked perfect.

I would agree with Bull. I have seen a few 07s with the 4 post clutch running staggered weights, 1000s with snapped belts etc, or some sort of shock to the crank that later causes a failure in the bearing even though the oil is doing its job. Klotz is a good oil and a reputable company.
