Bad controllers

I have been reading a lot of thread for a lot of years.
I have been through 3 engines, First one stock,Second Slp set up and third was a Struthers 975.
I finally got my 900 Slp put back together for one last ride last season, Went to the mountain and the sled ran like sh???, Wasn't idling on both cylinders off idle it ran okay but didn't have the normal power, So I got pissed and on the mountain I pulled my Boondocker Controller off. It was like I had a new sled It ran flawless the rest of the day.
It continues to run good this year with out a controller.
My two cents If you are having running problems take your controller off and try it.
I hope to get my 975 together later this year so I can run it.

DUDE...CRANKSHOP TWINS ON A 975....OH YEH....ME LIKEY...was it a B!TCH TO TUNE/SETUP???? Let me know....

you know what was wrong with your control box...cause i bet i do..

---when the boxes first came out, they wanted you to plug the ground wire for the control box into the brown wire on the stock harness (which is the chassis ground)...

well this brown wire on the sled was not sufficent enough for a ground for the control box and it will cause an intermittent BOG in your sled, or a sever bog all the time....

---i had the same thing happen to me, and yanked the box off and found out that the ground wire had broken from the connector and was causing my issues..

ever since i have ground the control box "ground wire" to the recoil housing and i have never had an issue since.

so give it a shot if you wanna use the control box. ;)

from what i have heard, the carls 975 doesnt even need the box for map curve, because they are spot on...but i see your running Nitrous....so i get it ;)

First box went bad. The ground went to the engine on both boxes.
When I ran the twin pipe they ran vary well, produce to much heat under the hood, So I pulled them. Thats when I did all my hood mods.
