bad bog off idle ...98 700 rmk

I have a 98 700 rmk .....slp twin pipes slp head ...144 track the problem i have is it has a bad bog off idle ....once it,s over 5000 it really goes good ....so i tried leaning out the idle jet 2 sizes and i put on a boost bottle .....still bogging ....i run 91 octane fuel ....it pulls really hard from mid range right to top end .....anyone have any ideas on how to crisp up the bottom end ......i am running out of ideas

what elev. are you running, I had the same prob. I went to a 168 main, 42 piolets, my clip on my needle is second from top.still had a little bog threw in so v-force reeds and it is crisp all the way. I run 8-11000 ft

How's your primary look? I had a sled like that the weights were getting sloppy and hanging up . Seemed like a bog at low end then when it freed up usually at higher rpm and some shaking ran like a top. Just an idea if this just started.

The early 7s had a problem with this polaris had a better needle to fix the problem, the taper was bigger to lean out the bottom and leave the midrange ok. sorry do not remember the #

I ride from 5-7000 feet .....i have 165 mains and 38 piolet jets ...needles are in the second clip it runs good after 5000 rpm.....just right off the line it bogs

I think your pilots are too small for that elevation. Run 41 pilots and try a 1371 G needle.

Its the 1371g needle. Works wonders.

Dont over look clutching. Primary, secondary and belt adjustment. Usually over looked and will cause those symptoms

I had the same problem on my '97 700. Ran like crap until about 6000 rpm, then it screamed. If I had any load on the track at all, like in deep powder, it wouldn't move. I tried every jetting setup I could think of, and even had both clutches completely rebuilt. Also changed reeds and changed to a newer can. It also has the SLP head and SLP twin pipes. After messing with it for over a full season, I finally found my problem. One side of my choke cable was corroded inside and wasn't springing back closed. It was very difficult to diagnose because the choke would work on one side, but I had no idea it was sticking on the other side. So one side was running on choke all the time. I got a new choke cable and now it runs like a champ!
Just another thing to try if all else fails. Unhook your choke from the carbs and lift the choke lever, then let it down and see if both sides spring back. Worked for me :)
