Backcountry IQ Test

Does counter-steering across a sidehill cause avalanches?

If I am tuning on my trackstand in the trailer at the parking lot...will the sound waves and vibrations cause an avalanche?

Are the moveable ramps on my SkiDoo TRA just making it easier for irresponible people to go further into dangerous conditions?

Here are a few, all except the last one could be good questions we all should be able to answer.

10. Do you realize when you have people out looking for you, They are taking time out of their day-vacation because of your stupidity?

I'm going to add this to vent a little, Years ago we were vacationing in the snowies and word came down that a group was missing. Everyone took an area to search and as luck would have it they were found in our area. It was a guy with a bunch of kids that had never been out snowmobiling before. They never should have been off the trail much less 5 miles from anywhere. They got caught out after dark and the wind picked up. Anyway, everyone got back in good shape. I'm sure everyone involved was happy to take the time considering the results. A couple years later when we stopped for gas I heard some guy talking about how he spent the night out with a group of kids one time! He actually seemed proud of it! The kids that were with him that night I'm sure don't have the same warm fuzzy feelings judging by the looks on their faces that morning they were found. And I'm sure the experience ruined snowmobiling for them after that. If it ever happens again to the same guy he should be left where he is!!! Sorry, I've been keeping that inside for about 8 years
