Back from Revelstoke

Well guys... i'll give you the short & sweet version of the story.

I was doing a very tiny hill climb, but quite steep, maybe 50ft of vertical, did it once and was on my way for a second time. Make it to the top, sled is totally vertical and I think It's going to go backwards and land on me. So I push off of it and claw my way to hit the kill switch as I see the sled rolling backwards. As I reach the kill, the sled and I go rolling down this hill. Sled rolls over 5x, lands on it's side/hood and pours all of it's oil out of a hole that got punched in the top of the oil reservoir.

My riding partners drive back to the truck to get oil while I start cleaning with a roll of toilet paper. After about an hour, they get back and i fill her up, hoping and praying everything is ok...

1 pull... nothing...

2 pull... brrrAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPP...

The damn previous owner put on a 5" riser without the throttle cable extension, it stuck open and the sled went flying into a tree and dug a big trench. Broke both front right a-arms, sucked my jacket (which was on the seat) into the track and ripped a big hole in it.

Had the sled been pointing 5m to the left, it would have gone about 400m and then SAILED off a huge cornice never to be seen again.

It was a wide range of emotions in a small period of time, confusion, anger, glad, sorrow, anger, relief... you name it, i felt it.

Thank god it held together down frisby ridge and back to the truck. no engine lights, ran great... other than broken suspension and broken pride.

I need a lower right side a-arm if anyone has one, that would be great.

Well first off I will say I am glad that you are ok and the sled sounds like it's fixable (and made it out under its own power:D):) There are plenty of folks parting out 900s in the sticky and in the swapmeet, you should be able to find some parts pretty quick to get her back on the snow.

Secondly, I don't mean to rub salt in your wound, but I will say - WHY don't you have a TETHER installed?

Funny you mention the tether...

just the day before i was thinking about it, and just plain old ran out of time to get it done. before i drive it again i'm putting one in! the real salt in my wound was that it sucked my jacket into the track. that really kicked me while i was down.

It was quite an experience. I for one was terrified when the sled screamed to life.... but with the mbrp can the sound was constantly startling me haha.

Ever notice how that little voice.....ALWAYS gets the best of you? Many a time I wish it was louder or wielded a hammer.
