Back firing

Backfiring is unused fuel.

I'd check:
Fuel pressure
Fuel pump
Injectors

You have a engine light code?

I also experienced backfiring once when my throttle bodies came out of the intake boots.... air leak. Reed valve malfunction will also do weird things. Good luck, let us know what you find!

code

No codes came up all day. Started popping here and there didn't feel like it had full power. It just got worse so I shut it down for a tow out. I'm going to check fuel pressure after a new filter gets intalled.

I'll be tearing into it tonight Fuel pressure test and stator check...
Seems like the timing is off but not sure how it works on this motor.

So here's what I found the ohms for the white/greengreen s/b 190 i get 0
green red / brown white s/b 15 i get 26.5
Green red / green yellow s/b 15 i get 12.3
white / white red s/b 190 i get 180.5
the rest are normal

New stator needed right?

looks like crank position sensor is bad yes it is part of the stator
did you use a good quality meter to take the readings?
did you check for short to ground on the white/green and green?
if the inner sleve on the flywheel cut the wires you could repair them if its not to close to the coils
green/red to brown/white spec is 30ohms

I have a 200 mile used stator for sale if interested. I would also be looking close at the flywheel. I have seen the magnets come off.

My spec sheet says 15 ohms for the
green/red to brown/white spec is 30ohms

None the less the whole assy. is being replaced.

On another side not has anyone turn their flywheel down to lighten it?
If so how did it work for ya?
