Baby Name Help!

Well some of you might recall I've been on this site for quite a while. Just not active lately.

Thought I would ask some of your expert opnions on baby names since we are expecting a baby boy. All entries must be in by April 8th!!! (Perhaps sooner!)

Prefer no somewhat common names.....no offense to any "John" or "Bill" but we have too many of them in the family. Also the wife has requested no "2 first names" aka "Billy Jo Bob" as she feels we would have to move into a trailer park. (No offense to any Bill Jo Bob's out there I'm sure your trailer park is nice!)

Last time the result was not a happy one.....so we are keeping our fingers crossed.....Hit me up with your suggestions.....

Thanks in advance!

Braap, all kidding aside. I'd think twice before you go to obscure. Having an off the beat name may sound interesting at first but can be rather frustrating and challenging for a child. It really makes your kid stand out and opens them up to a lot of possibly unwanted attention. If you are going to go off the beatin path make sure it's something that is EASILY pronounceable no silent letters, and simple to spell. Also don't go with any off beat spellings of common names. It's just a hassle. Speaking from a guy who grew up with a non-standard name ^_^

I suggested the name "Rooster" for our last one if it were a boy.

I LIKE it...but, man, was that met with a furled brow and a glare. LOL

We liked simple names. Anna, Ella, Emma etc. We have an Anna and a Sophia.

Our son is a Jacob...after my great great grandfather who was a sheriff in Nebraska who had Jesse James in his jail at one time.

Off beat names are not neccesarily riduculed in school from what I can tell...I do spend a lot of time around kids. If their peers are around themand used to it...
That's not to say it might not happen...but mostly kids have gotten pretty good about it.

First off, congrats! We are expecting in Feb but we are not finding out what is coming so we have to think of both a boy and girl name this time.

For boys we don’t have a lot of ideas yet...a few we did like were already mentioned, Cash and Ryder. Cash was a nickname for my grandfather, he passed away from cancer before I came into this world, but he sounded like a heck of a guy...very distinguished military record and became a very successful businessman (hence the nickname) even through the depression….and he didn’t get his money by buying up land by paying backed taxes like a lot of people did with money during that period. We like Ryder….well because the family likes to ride. Another one that has grabbed our attention is Noah.
For girls we only have one name that has stayed on the list so far, Anberlin….but that doesn’t really pertain to your question. We have a Tara and a Landen already.

How about Jack???

I think I turned out pretty normal....except for this bad habit I have during the snowy season....
