baby back ribs on a cedar plank. anyone done it?

never had anything cooked on a cedar plank but, was at the store the other day and they had some one clearance so i bought them.. i dont like salmon so i was on the net looking at cedar plank recipes and found one for ribs.. anyone had them??

never done ribs.......just fish. The ribs might need some more direct flame than the fish but it's worth a try. Possible can scorch them a bit first and then move them to the plank for the slow/long cook.

need a major long soak of the planks or you'll have a major big fire.

let us know how it turns out.

be sure NOT to use the gas that's in your eye, it'll leave a nasty taste on the ribs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::D:D:D

I have done it. I soaked the ribs in pinapple juice overnight, seasoned them then smoked them on low 120* or so smoke for a few hours the next day then into tupperware in the fridge overnight. The smoke flavor really sets in in the fridge. Finished them on a grill on day 3 on the cedar plank. Brushed on a touched up (garlic, onion, worchestershire pepper, and white pepper simmered on low for a couple hours) Jack Daniels #7 BBQ sauce at finish and Mmmmmmmmmmm. Good luck. EW

A good steak is very tasty on the plank too. Just cook slow to medium rare. mm mm mm :beer;
