Axys Silber Turbo 1353 Detonation Code

Hey Guys: Took the sled out after installing Silber Turbo. 3 miles in I got a Maximum Detonation Correction Limit Reached(1353 Code) on Pto side. Running at 2000' 100LL AvGas 100% 3lbs boost I'm assuming isn't enough Octane. Wondering if any of you have experienced this. Normally I run 110 but haven't had issues in the past with avgas. Just getting it ready for Island Park in a few weeks and want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I rode 150' to 1000' feet today on 3# on half AV 100LL and half 90octane pump with 5oz of Klotz Uplon fuel lubricant in my sled for 5 hrs today and no issues whatsoever. What helix are you running? Weights? Silbers clutch kit?

Factory Helix. Silber clutch kit. 74 grams. On and off the throttle seemed normal detonation. Light came on on a long flat pull. I'm assuming you've had good luck with av gas as well? I am planning on going to 7lbs out west with 75% av gas. 8-10k'. Thanks for the info.

Is the wiring harness or something vibrating against the motor ,intake or exhaust it can cause the det to go off or over rev spikes can do that

74 grams at 2000' is way to low. Factory helix doesn't cut it either at 2000'. In running 82.5 grams, a 42-44 helix on 3# and have to run 86 grams for 5# of boost.
With the factory helix in low elevationim not surprised your sled just freaked out on you. Now when you go out West and you are up into 8000' completely different story and I'd differ to some of the other gents on here for that knowledge in dialing in your clutching.

EDIT: I run full AV 100LL for 5# of boost along with the higher weights.

yeah no way if clutched correct you would see det on 3# on 100% ll, we have run 10 pounds @ 6500+ ft on 100% ll in many different sleds for years with no issues FYI

(unless the mapping is messed up)

I'll double check wiring I know its been an issue on these Axys sleds especially since I had to re zip tie after install. Clutching makes sense on the helix, it's just what Silber Recommended. I'll check to see what RPM's I'm pulling as I was more dialed in on the temp with the new install. According to Silber's cheat sheet you can stay at 74 Grams with 3# at low elevation all the way to 10,000 and jump up springs along the way(7# at 10,000). I appreciate the input, I could have called Justin I'm sure he would have answered but didn't want to bug him on a Saturday. They have been great to deal with. Thanks for the input fellas.

Your clutch weight is way to low, I run 82 grams on the #3 spring at 1-3k elevation. I only use 2.5 gal of 100LL with 93.
No issues not one DET code.

Well looks like it was the weight. For some reason I thought 74's were good at 2000'. According to attached cheat sheet should be 76's(minimum). I'll drop another few grams in and test again. So far love the response, blowoff is better than I expected compared to Ski Doo 800 with Aero..but we will see what 7 and 10# do out in Alpine and Island Park. Thanks for the helpz

Sunday was the deepest day we've had so far and best load I've put this sled through. Here was my setup and after watching GoPro got a good idea of RPM's.
3# of boost
82.5 grams, almond primary spring.
42/44 helix black/silver spring
Half and half AV100LL w/ Uplon.
Elevation: 50' - 750'

Highest RPM I pulled was 8150 that I could see. Snow was constantly coming over the hood and hitting the goggles but the GoPro allows me to cheat after the fact.

This weekend's setup will be the same but I've dropped half a gram to raise RPM's.
My goal is to dial my sled perfectly for sea level riding and then as I go up in elevation, up the boost instead of changing weights. We shall see how successful that is ha.

So I did go up to 78 grams and found that it is the correct setup on my sled here. I pulled 8350 which is where it appears these sleds like to be. Like the previous post I would rather up springs and keep grams the same. If Silber's specs are correct this should allow the 7 and 10 psi hold those rpm's out in Jackson area. It's nice to have a great forum like this to compare as I'm the only Axys in our group of 10. All are on 850's and Summit X.

matttorgerson-

I Ride 25 miles south of Jackson Live 150 south of Jackson..
You won't need alot of 100llc a splash of 1.2 to 2 gal per tank is more than enough here in the thin air.
We are pulling 8350-8400 @ 7#

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Have you utilized the 10# spring out there with heavier mix of av? Do you know if the Alpine Airpark will allow you to get Avgas there?

Never needed the 10# addition- and there should not be a problem gett the 100llc / I would call then though- I get mine out of Pinedale.

Only person I know of running the 10# with Silber is Sahen on his race setup. Don't know if he's changed anything else on the sled.
Curious of actual usage and stock injectors. Everything looks good on paper but real life doesn't always follow those rules.

I also ride "south of Jackson ;) " and run 7 (which is closer to 8 or 9 psi). I however run 4ish gallons of 100LL/tank - (if not 50/50).

I get worse idle performance, but better peace of mind. Especially on those huge pulls in deep snow.
