Axys Muffpot install???

Has any one installed a muffpot on a stock exhaust? I'm not seeing an obvious spot in the quik look I took. Thanks ( 2016 RMK 800 )

If you are running stock can I think you are stuck mounting on the pipe. If you are running an aftermarket can Wooodsrider's mount works pretty slick. You might have to do a little modification but its pretty easy. This how I mounted a muff pot using woodsrider's mount with a Skinz Super Q

SLP muffpot/hotdogger mount

Hey guys, just reading your thread and thought I might post something about what we're doing for this.

We have the perfect solution for this problem. SLP now offers a lightweight silencer for the 2016-17 Axys RMK with an integrated mount for the Muff Pot or Hot Dogger!

The silencer is compatible with the stock pipe or our SLP Single Pipe and comes in three ceramic coating options: black satin, silver satin, and silver polish. It also gives you a small power gain (about 2 hp) and HUGE weight reduction (11 lbs.) while providing an optimal location to cook some lunch!

That is a perfect location. Just pop open the side panel and your muff pot is easy to get to. . ..Thanks SLP!

Thoughts on using rivets to mount the bracket onto the can similar to what you have shown?

If you aren't riveting directly into the body or inlet of the silencer, it could work ok. Drilling and riveting into any of the main chambers or the inlet tube on the muffler would cause some problems for sure.

Our silencer with integrated mount uses a steel bracket welded to the top of the muffler before it is coated. It allows you to drill out to match your cooker bracketry and then rivet into place.

We will have one of these silencers on display at the Edmonton and Utah snowmobile shows if you want to stop by and check out the way it works.

I mounted mine by the y pipe requires removing top hood to get to it which is easy on the 2016. I haven't tried it though to see how hot it gets new sled to me .. This is a stock sled

One thing we ran into when testing is there are some spots like you mention that were too hot to properly cook. The y-pipe area was really hot and could potentially burn food if you don't get it out quickly enough... Part of that depends too on what it is you're trying to cook.

Here is where I mounted mine....

Thats where I put mine too. I also ditched the mounting hose clamp a few years ago and now I just use 3 exhaust spring to hold it it place. Drill a couple holes in the base plate and attach. Never vibrates loose and comes off in a few seconds if need be. Eric

I riveted mine directly to the top of my SLP can last year. Zero problems. I used steel chassis rivets. I think the aluminum rivets would be prone to working loose or cracking with the heat cycling. It worked great.

Now trying to figure out where to mount one with the turbo.

Get with woodsrider on the forum and buy his mount. It installed on the pipe just after the y-pipe. Very simple and cooks perfect every time.

You can remove the belt holder for quicker access WITH the hood on and pulling clutch panel off. Or leave belt holder installed and take that off before muffler. Either way it's best spot imo with the mount

Thanks for all the suggestions, I went with the SLP can and had no problem mounting it. If I have problems with the hose clamp, I will try the springs or rivet it to the top of the can . I imagine you will get some good heat transfer with it flat on the can.
