axel painting

Decided to replace the brakes on my sled trailer. While I have the old brakes off I figured I would wire brush the axels and repaint them. What a pain. Anyway what primer and paint would you guys recomend. I don,t want to do this again real soon. Thanks

i have used a paint called por-15 you dont need a primer cuz it bonds to bare steel and works well with surface rusted parts and looks real good when finished and is very durable. only downside is is that it pretty spendy and dont ever get it on anything you dont want it on because it is very hard to get off.
