Awsome Running Boards w/pics

Had my runnings boards stamped at MVM in Smithfield Utah. Went riding for 3 days in 3+ feet powder and never had snow build up on my boards. When there was snow one swipe with my foot and it was gone. My buddy didn't have his stamped and he had snow on his the whole time. The holes look like they were done at the factory!! The holes are rolled to maintain the strength. Sure beats hacking up your boards just to rivet some thick aluminum pieces back in. PM me for info.

Those look like the same holes that the Black Diamond punch/flanger leaves behind.

It's great that someone is doing this as a service... that tool is pretty pricey @ $350

I think that having them made with the flange facing up would give you a better foot hold.

From what I hear, Fastlane is using this punch to make their no-snow running boards on thier custom tunnels.
They just add a piece of black UHMW plastic and track screws for traction on top of the BD cutout holes.

I had mine done by a friend with this tool we discussed the Idea of putting the flange up. But after riding have found that if they were up there is a 1/4" of space where the snow would collect before it could go out. I have snow eliminators on my other sled and this is a way better way to go. qrieff charges $100 a sled and has done several here in Colorado. Love the porting

Our Snow Pegs fit right over those holes and will brace the tunnel and give you more traction. $29.95 / Pair

If you go with the RSI.. make sure to get them before you punch so that the holes line up and the tunnel flange is butted with the tunnel.

I was also looking at the C & S 6 inch "Foot Grips" between the punch outs in a couple of locations to stiffen the board and give traction. These are not stamped but cut from billet aluminum. $12 each for the 6"

The ROX Grips look pretty good too, but are 3.25" long... they'll give you the "grip" but wont act to stiffen the boards as much.

IMO, for light riders, it think that the puched out boards will be the cats-azz, for heavier guys the punched out boards will prob need reinforcement and the additional cost of the grips may make Better Boards or Snow-eliminators the better call.

Looks to me the tool rolls the metal down, I would think the rolled edge is very strong.

Sorry RSI.
I have yours on my sled and they don't work. They are not tall enough. They collect ice real bad. I have two per side with the center hole cut out. They just don't work.
I am looking for other options now. Better boards is what I am going to do.

Sorry RMKRIDER, All of our other customers are very satisfied with the performance of the Snow Pegs.

When you say they collect ice real bad where is it they collect the ice? Is it betweeen each Peg?

Does the snow fall out the hole you cut out in the running board?

Even the other brand of running board traction that help let snow fall through holes build up ice on the part between the holes.

I guess I don't understand why you would want to rivet more weight on your sled when there is plenty of traction already on the boards. If you keep the snow off it doesn't take much. The swedge around the hole puts every bit as much strength back in the boards, maybe even more.

YES!

YES IF YOU STOMP ON IT HARD.

THEY DID NOT HOLD IT AS BAD.
