Well my 900 "cherry" is busted. Went out for my first ride on the "new to me" 2005 900 RMK purchased from a friend. These sleds are nutz....The gearing is set up at 19/42 so top end is only 65-70......but it gets there in the lenght of my garage, incredible.

I definately see what you guys talk about with the "heavy" front end. I'm still waiting on my ordered front track spring. I hope this makes as big of a differance as everybody says, I'm sure it will. You guys havn't steered me wrong yet.

This power is definately going to be an addiction

Thanks for all your help so far setting this thing up guys...I love it, and can see owning this sled for a long time to come.:becky::becky::becky:

Your gonna love the 225# track spring. One of my top 5 best mods to my sled, and one of the cheapest!

225 spring is awsome. i have one 900 with it, and one with out it, and there is night and day difference.

Reason i ask,,, i cranked my stock down to last thread and it made a nice difference... And i wonder if going to 225 would be the same or another noticable difference.

And hitting large whoops i didn't notice allot of spring bind.. it maybe hitting spring bind,, hard to tell...

But im looking for an opinion on someone who has cranked stock all the way,, then went and got the 225,, and cranked to 1/4" preload.

Anyone.?

Where do you order the 225# spring? Is it a polaris or aftermarket spring. Looked it up on polaris parts for a fusion and rmk 900 and only the 170# spring is shown.

Can the flatlanders gain much from the 225# spring mod? I can see where it can help with the RMK's, but a switchback doing double duty trail/off-trail, I can see maybe being a problem with either ride quality or not being able to hookup on hardpack... What have you guys noticed?

of coarse, you WILL benefit for sure.

By changing the standard 160lb spring to a 225lb unit the front of the sled feels lighter, and is also easier to steer. Enables the balance of the sled to feel more like an Edge—easier to steer when not on the power.

Thanks, guido. I read that too on a search I did a while ago...I just wasn't sure if it will change the trail behavior of the sled (it's like a school bus on tight trails, already) too much. Being a flatlander, not all mods work with us as it does you elevation guys (ie. radiator delete, track porting, etc.), but some mods are just better in general for ALL 900's (ie. clutch balancing, wire routing, upgraded spindles, etc.). It's hard to decipher which modifications are better for the all-around performance of the sled, versus which ones work better for mountain and deep powder riding...

900's ROCK, by the way!!!!
