Avy packs for boys

What Avy pack is best for smaller sizes looking to buy for my teenage sons some I look at I don't think adj small enough.

Abs makes there base unit in 2 different sizes, the s/m size would probably fit pretty good.

I have a BCA Float...18? 3 seasons old, I think, got it for my daughter, it fits her well (5' 4"/110#). Not sure they make the 18 anymore, but it is SMALL.

I would disagree about the 18... that's a BIG pack for how much it holds. I've owned two of them, and they're decent sized.


If you want small, look for a freeride ABS. The bag setup on the BCA makes the top of it big & rigid by design, making it less comfortable for a smaller rider. The freeride was the first pack My wife (5'1") felt comfortable with. The other advantage of it is that it's usually easy to find used.
