Avy danger this weekend/season****Heads up****

Just a reminder for those that are going riding........PLEASE be safe. With all of this new snow some are getting, the conditions are extremely ripe for slides. I would like everyone to use their heads, and be aware of your surroundings. Check the avy reports for where you are riding.

Ride smart, ride safe, and live to ride another day. :beer;

Utah and Colorado both have Avalanche warnings posted as well.

Everyone be careful! Use your head!

I'm going to stick this as a reminder........PLEASE, PLEASE everyone be safe in all of this new snow. It's not going to be very stable.

I'm pretty sure it's this way all over, but here is a quote from Craig Gordon, Utah Avy Center. PLEASE, be safe!!

Also... it's super sketchy out there and the current avalanche conditions are quite unusual for Utah. Remember- beacons are only one part of the equation. The big ticket item right now is avoidance. Play on low angle terrain with nothing steep above or adjacent to you. What's tricky right now is, avalanches are being triggered from the bottom of steep terrain and these are unmanageable slides- they're deep, wide and unsurvivable.
For more info go to utahavalanchecenter.org
Please be safe and think about the consequences of your terrain choices.

Ride smart, ride safe, and live to ride another day.

Just heard on the evening new that someone died this afternoon in an avalanche on Garn Mountain in SE Idaho

I know everybody already knows this but from first hand riding this past weekend in Revelstoke... we rode Turtle Mtn yesterday... terrible terrible conditions. Extremly unstable snow pack. We were playing in some small stuff in the trees, just boondocking around and between our group of 5 we were witnesses of 15-20 small to medium sized slides. Some were harmless little slides some were definitely big enough to do some damage if you ever got bucked off your sled.

just and FYI, stay off anything that looks like it will slide... because it probably will.

Ride safe.

We ride northwest BC and the danger is extreme here too!!! I also heard that someone from alberta died this past weekend in Revy in an avy..... sincere condolences to his family :face-icon-small-sad

Deep in Eagles Pass... could get to where he was from Turtle for sure. We saw a chopper taking a sled out from Eagles pass when we were in Turtle yesterday(Monday) just figured it was a broke sled... read the news this morning and put two and two together... probably his sled. I feel for the family and his 3 daughters.
