This was my first year riding with an Avy bag and fortunatly i did not have to use it. What are you guys/gals doing to store these bags during the summer months? Do you trigger it and release the pressure and keep the bag umpacked? is it okay to leave it packed in the bag so long as it keeps dry? should i disconnect the bottle?

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated as the bag is a key peice of equipment that i want to keep nice and in tip top condition.

thanks

I am sure my method is not the norm.....I blow mine at end of season, store pack in a clean/cool/dry environment. I then refill the bottle to a couple hundred psi with dry nitrogen for storage.

The best is to make sure there is no water in the airbags , for this u can take the air bag out and make a visual check, then easily fold them back in following the fold line. U can unscrew the canister and handle if it is an abs and then store it in a cool dry place, before the winter reinstall the canister and handle(in abs case) and blow the bag off and then refill or exchange the canister. It is better to wait through the summer as this has u blowing the pack off right before winter which gives you the training, doing it at the end of the season gives u the summer to forget. You should blow ur bag off every year to the u training and after 8-10 blow offs with abs send the bag in to be serviced as the powder from the charge in the handle builds up in the hose and even though it will still work the proper service would be to do this at 8-10 blow off's which is 8-10 seasons. Hope that helps!
