Aviator goggles

Do they fit?

I guess the first thing you should figure above all others is, do they fit the helmet? All helmets are not made same, some goggles simply don't fit certain helmets. Period.
I'd check that first before buying anything.

I really like mine but, the lenses seem to scratch fairly easy. I'm on my second set of lenses. The first one was warrantied last year because the seal between lenses broke and they started fogging real bad, but they were scratched up pretty bad. My current pair is scratched up almost to the point of replacement and I'm very careful with them when not riding. Every time I get in the trees I know they are going to get scratched. I think when I replace them I'm going to go with the polarized lens and see if they are anymore durable. I agree you need to see how they fit your helmet and face together. I'm wearing a 509 helmet and they fit perfectly but on my wife's helmet they are to big and don't fit.

When shopping goggles we try to get the person to answer a couple questions. What conditions do you generally ride, what size helmet do you have, what style of helmet do you have, and what accessories you run with a helmet i.e. breath box, balaclava, glasses etc. Once we sit down and evaluate and listen to what you have to say with those questions we can point in the right direction.

With that said, the aviator has been a great and well received goggle this year. it has lived up to it's 509 name, and performed for most individuals. Pro's are that it fits amazing with the 509 helmets, seals off the entire face. Comes with a nose shield to keep the bitiing wind off too. The aviator is a spherical frameless lens design. basically this means that the lens gives you more visibility with a larger lens and smaller less intrusive frame. Having no exterior frame around the lens also allows no snow to build up in these areas when riding deep endless fluff. The other big selling factor for these goggles is that the lens' and lens replacements are super affordable. You can run multiple different shades and tints and not break the bank. They also come in polarized for those super sunny days. It also doesn't hurt that there are a ton of color options and frame designs available too.

Con's in our opinion would be that because of the larger style and frame on the goggle, some smaller helmets have a hard time getting the goggles to come tight to the face and seal off. The other issue is that some breath boxes dont allow for the larger frame. It has been an issue this year both reading on here and other forums that the chrome or mirror lenses scratch a little bit. With that said we havnt seen that issue on our end selling them to the public, but we have seen some pictures. This only seems to be an issue with the mirror/chrome lenses though like stated above. With that said, goggles need to be taken care of very well, and this goes for any goggle that you purchase.

509's products come with a great warranty and an even better company backing and building the product.

Let us know if we can help you out with a set of goggles or replacements in the future, and if you decide to stray away from the 509's check out our other options that we retail! Thanks for Reading!

GOGGLES

All about making sure your goggle choice fits your helment! I have two pair of the Aviator's and love them both, each with different color peepers in them! Can't say enough good things about them.

Check out Blown Motor, Shane and the guys there have alot of knowledge to help you out.

I love 'em and have several different lens. Only gripe is the lens surface scratches VERY easy. I feel like the only way to keep them from scratching is to put them under the hood or in the glovebox (Ski-Doo) to melt any snow/ice off. Can't really touch the lens without risking scratching them.

Ya, glad you got to strap them over your helmet and give them a go! Congrats, you will like them a lot!!
