Aviation oil pump

I was wondering if anybody is running one these pumps from turbo performance. I really don't have a lot of faith in the napa pump that I am running now. How much oil pressure does the garrett turbos require.

I will be running one, most people I talked to have had no problems one guy's quit working they some how realized and quickly switched back to the napa before the ride.

what number is the napa one?

Not sure wut the part # is. I brought it to napa and they had it. I ride with a spare now. Wuts the ideal oil pressure for these turbos?

WALBRO FRA-4 is what you want, they have 8-13 psi.

That will work great. However walbro is out of stock of them at this time.

I dunno about pressure, anyone have an idea? I cant decide weather or not to use the restrictor that came with the line attachment kit I ordered,

If I put a pressure gauge on the oil line will I even get a reading? how low is it?

Do you know if there is a issue running a FRB-4, the main difference being it has a built in replicable filter.

Your kit sounds very well thought out and tested Justin, you must have spent a wack of time on R&D, I am sure it is going to be good season for you.

I had one and it failed. Cost 600 to get the center section rebuilt. I would drop the cash for the silber or boon docker unit

From Garrett's website on FAQ:
"Oil pressure entering a ball-bearing turbocharger needs to be between 40 psi and 45 psi at the maximum engine operating speed."
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/faqs.html#t16

I know people are getting away with less than that amount. I'm only running 45lbs on my journal bearing turbo.

:scared: mine shows basically 0 until its wound up pretty good then it shows about4-5 psi and if i recall thats all silber said these require. i may not be remembering perfectly.. i have always wanted to find a higher flow pump.. maybe run 2 of silbers pumps in tandem?

That is wut mine does, Justin said I could run a heavier oil. Waiting for snow to see if that helps.

My T800 silber pro shows 3 psi at idol cold . Then going down the trail goes up to 8-9 psi. In my experience with garret ball bearing turbos they need very little oil . I have never had one go down on me. I use 0-30 syn. oil.

Does silbers kit come with the oil pressure guage? Or you added it..

^His kit comes with a pressure gauge, or his IQ kit I had did anyways. My oil pressure was 3-6psi, I have not heard of one failing running those pressures.

the 40- 50 psi figure is for the journal bearing turbo's. our pump runs 4-8 psi depending on the oil you run. these are also solid state with no driver board.
