AvGas in the Pro?

With all this head talk for the pro, I'm going to go with Brad's 13:6 head. However for insurance a little extra octane would be a good idea. AvGas is around 100 octance, however I heard it has a slow burn rate. What does that mean, and is avgas good in 2-stroke engines?
 
I hope and plan to run straight avgas at 12lbs boost on stock compression. It is fine to use in a two stroke, four stroke, whatever.
That is for use over 8k'.
 
It will cause to feel a little less responsive, (or at least it did on my m8) for a head mod if they say you don't need it I wouldn't worry, but for piece of mind 1 gallon should be more than enough.

I ran 13.5lbs on a 09 tm8 with straight av, it was doggy off bottom and ripped on top, later I ran 4 gal of av on 12lbs and still never hit the det sensor, I was running 1-2 gal of av and running 10lbs. Don't over octane or it will run like dog ...
 
I ran some AV in my Pro last year, The stock compression and plugs where not really hot enough to properly burn the fuel and saw some bogging issues. With a Head (higher compression) and some hotter plugs I'm sure it would run great! AV went from $4.75 to $7.50 here this summer, So I'll be running non ethanol 91.

Where you getting non eth 91 in CO?
