Average Life of 1115 belt?

Just out of curiosity, how many miles is everyone getting out of the 1115 belt? I got 700 miles out of the last one. Just wondering what type of lifespan to expect.

I think I was around 700 miles on my first one and the dealer adjusted my clutch to loose and I blew my belt. I have over 700 miles on the one on it now and if it lasts through next week I will have over a 1000 miles on it

Last year I pulled out a 1/2 inch of cord @ 700 miles... trimmed it off and the belt lasted till 1100 miles - till the last day of riding.

This year I pulled a 1/2" of cord at 160 miles:eek::face-icon-small-dis trimmed it, then trimmed it again and now at 250 miles... just don't have the mileage this year I had last year... :(

I have around 600 miles on a used one this season...not sure how many miles were on it when I bought the sled though? He told me it was fairly new. Still looks good, no cords showing etc. For what its worth I am running with the slp torque arm, properly adjusted stock torque stop, clutch was balanced by indydan, and floating secondary.

i am around 1000miles on my 115 belt on my 05 900, looks MINT still...i will go to 1500 for sure before i change it, then it will be a spare...

wifes 06 700 is around 800 and its better then new still..

the key is this...

--perfect clutching
--wash your clutches at least before season, during season and after season to keep them clean...i would do it at least 2-3x during the season if you ride over 1000 mies...
--scrub your belt in soap/water with a brass wire brush the SAME interval as teh clutches above...

and you will ride that belt EASILY 2000 miles and use it as a spare after that...

ive seen some guys use the same 115 belt for 3000miles, and i watched a 2011 Pro last week with 300 miles BLOW the 115 apart...lol.

Never blew one, 2years in my 975, replaced the old one when I boosted the sled. 2 seasons turbo charged and and just getting it on the snow this week. We'll see if it makes it the rest of the year.

I started last season with a new 1115 and it's still on there this season, so about 1,100 miles so far and it's still in excellent condition.

Tuning and Maintenance

If your Clutches are set up correctly and you are an average rider 1500-2000 is a good number, or 3 years Max.

I have found that age and cold temps are as big a factor as Miles.
Belts get brittle.

It like the old ladys car with 15,00 original miles on it. She changes the oil every 2000 miles, but it takes her 10 years to put 2,000 miles on it.

Take your belt off durnig the summer and let it retuirn to it original state.

Support you sled by the rails, back the springs off.
