Avenger 3 installation

i bought a used avenger 3 that i'm putting on a 2004 rev. it has the warning light and the only electrical wires that came with it is one red, one black, so is that what is uses to get its power and lights? if so, does the red go on the lighting coil yellow wire? does the water temperature probe hook into where one of them says EGT? because there is nothing saying water temperature.

On the Avenger III, there should be 3 wires coming from the connector that mounts on the back of the gauge. Red for power, Black for ground, and Yellow that you will hook into a wire for your tach pulse. On my Rev I hooked the yellow wire into one of the yellow wires coming from the regulator.
Your water probe will plug into one of the 4 plug ins on the back of the gauge where your other egt probes plug into.
I don't have the warning light on mine, and I'm thinking that the only wires you got with your gauge is just for it, but I'm not 100% positive on that.
You may be better off calling EGT direct and asking them questions, or seeing if they have a copy of the instructions they could send or e-mail you. They still have parts and accessories for the gauge.

where did you hook your red wire? i tried hooking my red wire to the white with green trace coming from the speedometer. i get power in it, but the back light doesn't work and the rpm if it's reving 1600 it's showing 1.6, is that right? thanks

You have tha ac harness and need the 3 wire dc harness. Red goes to power acc plug. There is a port under console. Black is ground and the other goes to white with green tracer wire.. I just redid mine. Before, I hooked the red wire to the yellowe wire before VR and black to ground and it seemed to work fine.
