Avalanche Courses in AB, SK,BC, ID

I've just watched the video A Dozen More Turns and it makes what I am about to write even more relevant!
Zacs Tracs is now well into their training season for 08/09 and has finalized their course schedule for Avalanche Skills and Awareness Training. Take a look at their website for dates and locations in your area.
As the video indicated it is definately a good idea to make sure you and your buddies are well trained in avalanche awareness skills, because who do you want to dig you out > someone who knows what they are doing!

The course schedule posted earlier this season has many changes.
Please review the most current schedule at:

Fernie, BC - AST1 avalanche class Jan 3-5

Hello all,

We received a couple of phone calls yesterday related to our avy class running in Fernie this weekend - Jan 3 & 4/09.

The classroom session on Saturday, Jan 3 has lots room, but the field session on Jan 4 is full.

See new post re class: I have offered to the Fernie Snowmobile Club and others that are interested that we open up Monday Jan 5th as an alternative field session.
As many of the locals will not be available on Saturday, classroom exercises for this group could then run from 6-10pm on Sunday evening and 6-10pm on Monday evening...provided that we can gather at least 10 people

If this schedule works for you and your riding partners, please contact Chrissy with Zac's Tracs.
403-938-1605 or zacstracs@gmail.com
We will tentatively register you and run the course once we have enough fully registered participants.

For general details and to download a registration form for the Fernie class, please follow this link.

Change to info on previous post!

Further to Lori's earlier post please now disregard the information. It has now been decided that on Monday 5th January it will be a class only session held from 9:00am - 5:30pm and a field session will be held at a later date. The class will still be held in Fernie.
If you would like to register for this class please contact me at zacstracs@gmail.com, or email your registration form to 403.938.1605 during office hours.

Chrissy
