Avalanche Training - Anything Designed For Snowmobiles?

I have been looking at taking an AIARE level I course but it appears everything local is targeted towards backcountry skiers/boarders. That would be fine by me except that to take the class they mention you need to be able to ski in.

Are there any snowmobile/snowbike led classes or other options that anyone would recommend in SW WA?

Found this in the Avalanche section, hope this helps. Central Oregon Avalanche Association is sponsoring TWO scholarships for sledders to take an AIARE Level 1 Snowmobile Specific class put on in partnership by Central Oregon Adventures and Oregon Ski Guides in Bend, Oregon. Dates are January 2nd, 3rd and 4th. It's a great opportunity - even if you don't want the scholarship, the training will be a great way to start our season on a strong, confident SAFE note!

Funny you ask, I just attended an avalanche awareness seminar at Clems Powersports in Enumclaw. It was tailored to snowmobile riders and is full of practical tips and experiences. I bought the DVD and it's great. Try checking their website at avalanche1.com.

the awareness training at Clems is nothing like a level 1 class.

I took a level 1 class a couple years ago put on by "Ridge Explorations" and our hands on training days were up at Crystal Mountain.
It was a good class and yes you had to ski in or snowshoe in. I chose to snow shoe and was fine (I had never been on snow shoes before). My point is--it was a level 1 class and it was good. Snowshoeing was not bad at all. Was it snowmobile specific--no. Was there valuable information --yes! Would I do it again--yes!
