Is there any interest in having an avalanche rescue course taught in the field?
I live in Revelstoke, and I am a Professional Member of the Avalanche Community, and also very active in Search and Rescue.
This would not be an AST course. This would just be about rescue. Beacon search strategies, probing patterns, and shovelling/digging scenarios.
I think everyone should get some avalanche skills training. Have you taken the AST 1, but maybe you are rusty on the rescue side of the equation?
I also have some ideas about inter-group and group to group communication that I would like to start sharing with people.
Let me know what you think!
