That was a looooooong 4 minutes....

4 min. 22. sec to be exact. That would definitely be the longest time of your life. I sure hope my friends are that proficient or more so if my time ever comes.

Lets all do each other a favor and KNOW and PRACTICE with our beacon equipment. UAC has so kindly set up beacon basins for this very reason. Lets take advantage! This is a note to myself.

If you thought that was a long time. Just think of the average guy under there for 10-15 minutes. His recovery was record fast.

Man I love Boondockin...................;)

Practice, Practice, Practice and most of all. Use your friggin head and be smart enough to make it home for another ride.:face-icon-small-hap

I have plenty of fun in the trees in the flats, I always get nervous on the hills...

Great video and thanks for posting it.

If I can add a couple of things guys. Please, please practice with your beacons. I know way too many people who buy them and play with them once or twice and call it good. You need to practice and become very proficient at it. It could be the difference of you finding your friend or family member dead or alive. Second, always watch for the last point you saw the victim and start your search at that point and then look for visual clues, a hand, a glove etc. In the video they honed in on a glove which helped them find him quicker. Lastly, always wear your beacon. I also know too many people who only wear their beacon on the "bad" days. Not smart. You should always, always wear your beacon. It's good to get this into our systems now...early. Early season tends to be the worst avy conditions while the snowpack is weak and shallow.

Play it safe guys. I want to get a chance to ride with all of you.

1 more, Make sure all your equipment is in good working order. Shovel locks and unlocks without bind, probe not comming appart, NEW batteries on your beacon, etc....etc....
Lets practice to be as safe as we can. My kids are always waiting for dad, and that is what really matters and makes it worth the time to do it. :beer;:beer; LET IT SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!:D
