Avalanche - I wonder if they made it out

i will be taking a course this fall. signs maybe not as obvious to me
1- cornice
2- no trees (runout)???

please correct me if i am wrong

yea the cornice shows that the slope in wind loaded with dense snow(heavy), thus putting more weight and stress on the slope.
And the area he was on had trees right below the open face, so theres a good chance if he was in the slide hed get put through the strainer....not fun. The angle of that slope looked really good to me as well for prime slide conditions.
that was my overall look on it....

have fun in your coarse in the fall, they are a blast and youll be glad you took it!

thanks, yeah cant wait for the avy class. talked (e-mail)with mike duffy, got his name of of here somewhere. he responded immediately and sounds really excited and into spreading the good word of avy safety to others. sounds like maybe, don't quote me, at the sportshow in november for any other flatlanders in the area with their ears on.
