Terrible and tragic. RIP fellow sledhead.

We saw signs of activity on Saturday, so we played in the trees and steered clear of the big stuff. Amazingly one person in our group was watching another group " highmark " the rear face of Turbo hill, and they were climbing up two and three at a time. They set off a small to medium avy, half way up the face. Then proceeded to climb through the avy debris up and into the fresh face, and one of them got stuck on the cornice above. WHY ? oh WHY do we have this happen ? Are we our own worse enemy to our sport ?
Sorry to spout off on this thread, I dont know any of the circumstances behind this fellow's demise, and for all I know it could have been purely accidental. I hope for his children's sake that they can deal with what they had to witness. godspeed to them all.

Veedy.

Play safe out there boys and girls. I have been riding the Eagles and Sicamous area the last few days and stuff is sliding like crazy. Stay in the trees and on the flat stuff. Very sad to hear. RIP !

Very sorry to hear. R.I.P.:rose:

Please keep your heads on straight, we don't need any more losses like this:(:(

rode turtle mtn monday... rediculously unstable snow pack. Our group of 5 were playing in the trees, boondocking staying off anything big and we were still making things slide that you would never think would really slide... small - medium slides but still none the less it still slid... 15-20 slides in turtle on monday... not worth going in as almost any face will let go. Its a creepy feeling when everything underneath you starts to float... no sled has enough hp to get out of the slide fast enough it seems.

Ride safe
