Cobbycat is right folks,
The Canadian Avalanche Centre issued a Special Public Avalanche Warning (SPAW) on account of the touchy avy conditions for this weekend. The SPAW is in effect for the following regions:
North Rockies
North Columbias
South Columbias
South Rockies
Kootenay Boundary
South Coast
The SPAW is not saying "don't go out". What it is saying is that you should pay careful attention conditions and make sure you choose terrain that is suitable for the current conditions.
be safe! My friend was heli-ing around the rutherford area today. As the guide was digging a pit she let go. Said they heard and saw numerous avalanches throughout the area today.
