Avalanche class interest during next year's fairview shootout?

I'm trying to gauge the interest level for the possibility of hosting an avalanche safety class for snowmobilers during next year's shootout weekend. The class would be put on my Mike Duffy and would carry a cost of approximately $45.

Mike does a great job and is very knowledgeable. The class would probably be held on Friday evening and last 4 hours.

The question: would you be interested if I were to arrange this? Not looking for a commitment or anything, just wondering if it would be worth the work to organize.

Great idea. Should turn this into like a 2 or 3 day event, get some sponsors up there. I think you local boys should get on this!! But for hell sakes, change the weekend so we will have good weather. :D

And besides just racing, need to throw in some crazy chute climbing. I know I have seen some off the west side looking into Mt. Pleasent that would rival Revy!!

I personally don't think the shootout would be a good place for a few reasons.

Do you ever do seminars at the Intermountain Snow Show in the fall? I think that would be the perfect place for something like that:

Early in season
Good crowd
Attracts all levels of riders
Good Facility
Good exposure/advertising
Fewer distractions or reasons not to attend-like rideing!

That's a very good idea. I think everybody is pre stoked about sledding and would have huge interest in a Avy Class at the show.

I for one have been guilty of passing up an Avy Class in trade for a ride day.

Best idea I have heard all day...
