Great job Mike. This video or one like it should go with every long track sled sold. Not a replacement for full avy training but a really good start.

The video series will provide the most current information and gear. By viewing at the start of the season, hopefully it will get riders in the right mindset for riding in the mountains. Includes key points from my classes and footage of using avalanche rescue gear out in the snow.

Much emphasis in this first DVD on beacon use.

If there is anything you would like to see in future segments, please send me a PM. Input would be greatly appreciated.

I enjoyed your class in Bend the other week.

Is the DVD pretty much the same info? I may go buy it anyway since I probably forgot everything you said already haha :)

The DVD provides many of the key points from the class and then we filmed on the snow showing how to use a beacon in single and multiple burials, shoveling techniques, probing, building a snow cave and much more.

Really gives you the "visual" on how to do an effective beacon search.

Thanks for taking the class in Bend. Mike Duffy

Anybody in Canada selling this, I can't swallow over 28.00 shipping for a DVD.

We are working on having it available as a pay per view online, but have run into problems with the host site. I will be contacting the host to see if they can work out the problems. It could easily be a couple of weeks. I'll post here when or if it will be available online.

X2

I'm looking to get a copy of this video as well. The online version would be okay but I would rather have something I can pop in the laptop and watch while in the vehicle driving west. As a refresher before heading out. I live in ontario Canada so it's my best bet of getting some training for now.

Looking to buy some Avvy gear too, definitely none Of that available around here. All the deals the guys offer above are nice, buy by the time I ship it hear I'm out a small fortune. Any one have recomendations on good websites to pick up a beacon and probe in Canada. Best I've found so far is MEC.Ca. Now if they carried this video id be set.

Thanks

Jason

I will work on getting someone to distribute it in Canada next year. That is an insane shipping price.

Ok, I just shipped a DVD to Canada and was quoted $28, but it was only $7.35 for 1st class parcel USPS. I can check with snowbigdeal and first place parts to see if they can do it that way. I will have a fulfillment house shipping DVDs and I believe they will use the lower rate method. Order from www.avalanche1.com and by the end of the week should be able to ship to Canada. Hope this helps.
