Auto tune

Just installed Fix Kit on 2009 D800. I have early 2010 flash whith slp stage 3 + tune for pc5. If I install auto tune should i still change ecm to 2008 flash? Where and how is the best way to install probe on ceramic coated pipe? If running auto tune do you have to worry about blended fuel and and ethenol wires? Where is the best place to get base map for auto tune? Thanks guys!

hi ajbond
im guessing you talked to shawn at pms. if not I have and he told me they are working on a base map for the 08 flash for the pc5. I am currently waiting for my fix kit and ecu. had it flashed to 08 also have pc5 and auto tune on my 2010 assault w/ aaen pipe. I was told to install my auto tune probe 6" from end with the can in the main pipe. I also would never and i mean never run ethenol in a sled seen many go down because of that. hope this helps if not let me know.

Last fuel station switched to blended fuel. 10% is the only choice. will auto tune compensate or unplug wires or both?

that sucks would unplug wires for sure with e10 dont think autotune will make a different as the issue with e10 is it is drier and hotter the wires change the timing to prevent det and burndown.

I don't think this statement is correct. Can anyone confirm this. Will the auto tune comp for e10?

Unplug the wires and you get about 5 to7% richer fuel mixture. It does nothing to timeing or the PC5/3

ONLY if the AUTO-TUNE is ON or you have a separate map for the E-10

If you're running a map "Built" from non-ethanol fuel A/F readings, you'll be lean running the E-10

Thought it was when the wires were plugged in, that the ECU then richens the mixture up. I am now confused. '09 RMK Dragon.

yes unplugged is for e10 and yes it does change the timing in the sled. I would guess you should make a map with the wires one way and leave them that way. Im also fighting an auto tune so im learning things also.

Where are you getting info on timing change. my understanding is that is burns the same you just need more to keep a/f ratios in check. wires are designed in the cenerio that if the unkowenly disconect it will richen not lean out.

the way I understand it from a 3 polaris techs that I ride with all the time it changes both fuel and ignition timing. not trying to start a fight or piss anyone off just got to believe them as they do this day in day out. that is the reason you have decreased performance with the wires unplugged. I believe this it is the same concept as 440 race motors with jets and timing nob
