Atwood Furnace Ducting

Hey guys/gals,

Putting in some ducting for the Atwood furnace that I just ordered. I do not have the unit yet so I am wondering what size PVC pipe works best to duct the air to the rear of the trailer?

I want to install the ducting this weekend so that when the furnace gets here all I have to do is connect it to the PVC pipe with some flexible duct material.

What is everyone using for size of PVC pipe to match up to the heating unit well?

Thank you for your comments:)

4" pipe should be what you need. You will still need to use some of the metal duct work to begin with then tape it off with the silver foil ducting tape.

here is a pic of mine if it helps

the top pipe has holes drilled all the way down and is right over the hooks for our gear then we ran another pipe down to the floor to dry off the floor and sleds overnight

Sweet...thank you so much for the information.

When I cut the 4.5" by 5" hole in the trailer, does anyone know if I need to put anything inbetween the inner skin of the trailer and the outside sheet metal to prevent exhaust fumes from filling the "in-between" of the trailer because mine is not insulated.

Also, how does the exhaust/inlet area of the Atwoods meet the outside door compartment that you have to attach to the outside of the trailer...does it just stick out of the furnace and not attach to anything? Then the outside vent/grate thing is mostly for looks and to help keep rain/debris out of the furnace?

I know, lots of questions, but have not done this before and I want to get it correct:)

Trailer is 7X29 (un-insulated) and the atwood I bought is the 30,000 BTU...

Any help is appreciated mattymac:)
